HS2 – do see the article in this week’s

HS2 – do see the article in this week’s Ham & High. You may well have thought that I was being a doomsday specialist when I sent out my note about the potential effects of HS2. Well, since my last note to you, I have found out that the effects will be worse than my last email. Here’s why:

· 8 bridges demolished and rebuilt

· Sewers and drains dug up, new water, gas and electricity facilities built

· All major through roads – Camden Rd, Kentish Town Rd, Chalk Farm Rd, Camden High st, Eversholt st, Adelaide Rd, Hampstead Rd, Albany st, Parkway, Gloucester Ave, Haverstock Hill, York Way – partially or completely closed

· At least 19 new construction compounds and depots built in local areas

· Up to 1500 extra lorry movements a day

· Closures on the North London Line (used by 55,000 people every day)

· At least 15 local bus routes diverted

You are all awesome though because we are now up to 443 signatures on the petition. I thought I might receive a modest 300, but you have been amazing joining me for the general charge.

Do keep the signatures coming in and let everyone you think may be interested know. This is massive and we need to protect Hampstead. http://ow.ly/i/4AOVE
